Here's a Wuerzburg tram and bus at night. What's best about the buses here is that a lot of peak service is contracted out, but instead of a whole route going to a contractor, whatever contractor that wins a bid just does some trips in his own private bus. As a result, the transit company saves lots of money, but none of the buses look the same. It's like waiting for a Route 7 old ratty bus and then a fancy Sun Diego coach picks you up instead.
